Karachi: The thieves stole gold ornaments and cash worth over Rs7 million from a locked house in the Lines area of Karachi. The family members had gone to attend a wedding ceremony at the time of the incident.

According to details, robbers stole gold ornaments and cash worth Rs7 million from a house in front of the Water Ground, a street behind the former Macro Superstore in the Brigade area of ​​the Lines area, Tunisia Line.

Police and forensic department officers inspected the scene and collected evidence.

Salman, son of the owner of the house, Shujauddin, said that there was a wedding ceremony of a cousin living near his house, which all the family members had locked the house at around 10:00pm to attend. When they returned from the wedding ceremony at 1:30am, the locks of all the cupboards inside the house broken. On inspection, it was found that the gold ornaments, cash, and other valuables kept in the cupboards were missing.

He stated that about 16 tolas of gold jewelry, Rs3.2 million cash, and other items are missing from the house, and further inspection will reveal what items were stolen.

The son of the owner of the house added that the money and gold jewelry were kept in the bank lockers, but they had taken out the money and gold jewelry from the lockers to buy a house, and the money for the new house was to be paid in two to three days.

The police say that a formal report of the incident has not been filed. A case will be registered after which the incident will be investigated.
