Court adjourned the hearing till January 28

Islamabad: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) has sought a response from the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) on the acquittal petitions of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder and his wife Bushra Bibi in the Toshakhana II case.
Justice Raja Inam Minhas of the IHC heard the acquittal petitions of PTI founder and Bushra Bibi in the Toshakhana II case.
During the hearing, PTI founder’s lawyer Salman Safdar requested a stay order on the trial of the case, to which Justice Raja Inam said that there is no judicial precedent for staying the criminal proceedings at this point, ‘We will take notice of your request and hear the other party as well’.
Meanwhile, Salman Safdar requested a change of bench and said that Justice Gul Hassan Aurangzeb has heard five petitions related to this case, it would be appropriate that this court also send the acquittal petitions to the same court.
Justice Raja Inam rejected the petitioner's lawyer's request for a change of bench and said that they were bail petitions and this is a separate matter. This court will hear the case, you should give arguments on the merits of the case.
PTI founder's lawyer said that there are also orders for two applications, and the trial court should be ordered to stop the hearing. The judge stated that the indictment has been filed in the trial court, and the statements of the witnesses are being taken, it would not be right to do so now. Let us issue a notice in this, we will not give a later date.
Later, the court issued a notice to the FIA and adjourned the hearing till January 28.
