Islamabad: According to the Bureau of Statistics report, the prices of nine items increased, 16 decreased, and the prices of 26 remained stable last week.
The report stated that the price of tomatoes decreased by 16 percent, onions by 12 percent, and eggs by 5 percent. The price of chicken increased by 1 percent, sugar by 3 percent, and bananas by 5 percent.
According to experts, the decrease in the pace of inflation is welcome, but the public is still waiting for a significant reduction in the prices of essential goods.
On the other hand, a slight decrease in the weekly inflation rate was recorded in the country.
According to the latest report of the Bureau of Statistics, the inflation rate decreased by 0.36 percent, while the overall inflation rate on an annual basis also decreased by 0.44 percent.
