Silver prices in Pakistan remain at Rs3,300 per tola
(Web Desk): Gold prices in Pakistan reached a new record high on Friday, following an increase in international rates. In the local market, the price of gold per tola went up by Rs1,500, reaching Rs291,800.
Similarly, 10 grams of gold were sold for Rs250,171, an increase of Rs1,286, according to the All-Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Sarafa Association (APGJSA).
On Thursday, the price of gold per tola had risen by Rs1,600, reaching the previous all-time high of Rs290,300. Meanwhile, international gold prices also rose on Friday. According to APGJSA, the international price was $2,792 per ounce (with a $20 premium), up by $14 during the day.
Silver prices in Pakistan remained at Rs3,300 per tola.
Globally, gold prices hit a record high on Friday and were on track for their fifth consecutive weekly gain. Investors sought the safe-haven metal due to rising concerns about US tariffs, while also waiting for an important inflation report for more market direction.
As of 0216 GMT, spot gold had risen 0.1% to $2,797.48 per ounce, marking a 1% increase so far this week. Earlier, prices had hit a record high of $2,799.71. This surge followed President Donald Trump’s announcement of a 25% tariff on imports from Mexico and Canada.
