The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) also forecasted cold and dry conditions, with temperatures expected to be between 9°C and 11°C on January 26.
The PMD also mentioned that the humidity would be around 41% and winds would be blowing from the northeast at 11 km/h.
Additionally, the national weather agency reported that rainfall across Pakistan from September 1, 2024, to January 15, 2025, was 40% below normal.
The provinces of Sindh, Balochistan, and Punjab were the hardest hit, with rainfall deficits of 52%, 45%, and 42% respectively. This drought is especially affecting rain-fed areas.
