‘Further action is being taken to arrest more individuals involved in the firing incident’

(Web Desk): Two terrorists involved in the firing on Assistant Commissioner Kurram have been arrested, while three cases have been registered against the suspects involved in firing incidents in Bushra.
On Friday, two terrorists involved in the firing on Assistant Commissioner Saeed Manan were arrested. According to police officials, the arrested suspects have been transferred to an undisclosed location, and a case has been registered. Further action is being taken to arrest more individuals involved.
According to the police, the first FIR was registered for the morning firing incident, the second FIR was filed by the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) for the attack on the Revenue AC, and the third FIR was also filed by the CTD for the murder of Constable Ashiq Hussain.
It is important to note that after an attack on a convoy in the Baghan area of Lower Kurram in November 2024, which resulted in the deaths of over 40 people, clashes stemming from long-standing land disputes led to at least 130 more deaths. Due to the unstable security situation, the main road was closed for weeks, causing a shortage of essential goods and medicines in the Upper Kurram area of Parachinar.
Although a ceasefire agreement was reached between the warring tribes on January 1, attacks on a government convoy and a relief convoy earlier this month have put the peace at risk. In response, authorities launched a limited "anti-terrorism operation" in Lower Kurram and ordered the establishment of temporary camps for displaced persons (TDPs) as over a thousand families had been displaced.
