Washington: US President Donald Trump has taken a U-turn and postponed tariffs on Mexico and Canada for a month, while also hinting at talks with China.
According to media reports, Donald Trump and Mexican President Claudia Pardo had a telephone conversation. The US President postponed the trade tariffs imposed on Mexico for a month.
According to the US administration, Mexico has expressed support for drug control in the US, and Mexico will deploy 10,000 National Guardsmen on the border with the US.
US President Trump said that the US administration will try to reach an agreement with Mexico and is looking forward to participating in negotiations with President Claudia.
Trump and Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau had two telephone conversations on the same day, after which Trudeau said that President Trump is suspending the implementation of the 25 percent tariff on Canada for at least 30 days.
The US President said in a telephone conversation with Justin Trudeau that Canada has not treated us well. ‘We do not need Canadian agriculture and timber. Canada and Mexico are involved in smuggling’.
Later, while talking to the media in the Oval Office, Donald Trump said that tax issues with Mexico are yet to be resolved, and talks with China can also be held in the next 24 hours. China will be dealt with on the Panama Canal, and if no agreement can be reached, tariffs will be increased on China.
