Lahore: Pakistan Railways has once again increased the fares of passenger trains, citing the increase in the prices of petroleum products as the reason.
The Railways Department has also issued a notification, according to which the tickets of all classes of the train will increase by 5 percent.

The increase in fares will also be applicable to saloon service and all outsourced trains, added the notification of the Railways Department.
It is pertinent to note that on January 31, the federal government increased the price of petroleum products for the public for the third consecutive time. The price of petroleum products was increased by a total of Rs7 per liter.
According to the notification, the price of petrol per liter was increased by Rs1 to settle at Rs257.13.
The government increased the price of high-speed diesel by Rs7 to be sold at Rs267.95 per liter.
