(Web Desk): Cristiano Ronaldo, the Portuguese football star, is celebrating his 40th birthday today and has boldly declared himself as "the greatest scorer" in football history.

In a recent interview with Spanish TV channel La Sexta, the Al Nassr forward confidently claimed to be the best footballer ever.

The five-time Ballon d'Or winner referred to himself as the "most complete player who has ever existed" and emphasized his remarkable goal-scoring abilities. "I'm the best player in football history. I haven’t seen anyone better than me, and I say this from the heart," he said. He also mentioned that despite not being left-footed, he ranks among the top 10 in history for goals scored with his left foot.

Ronaldo holds many records in men's international football, including the most appearances (217) and the highest number of goals scored (135). He proudly pointed to these achievements as proof of his place in history.

The former Manchester United, Real Madrid, and Juventus star also touched on his long-standing rivalry with Argentine football legend Lionel Messi. He called it a "healthy fight" and stated that they always had a good relationship. "We've shared 15 years of awards, and we’ve always gotten along well," Ronaldo said. "We supported our clubs and national teams. It was a healthy competition."

As he celebrates this milestone, Ronaldo continues to cement his place as one of the greatest players in football history.
