Star batter says that he often reminds himself not to dwell on past performances

(Web Desk): Pakistan's star batter, Babar Azam, has asked fans to stop calling him "king," saying that he does not see himself as one yet.
After Pakistan’s victory over South Africa in the tri-nation series, Babar explained that his main focus while batting is to score well, but he has struggled to finish games. "Unfortunately, I haven’t been able to finish the innings, but Rizwan and Salman played well today. Performances like these help boost the team’s confidence," he said.
Babar also clarified that he does not consider himself a "king" and requested people to stop using that term. "I’m not a king yet. We’ll see what happens when I leave. Opening the batting is a new role for me, and I have taken on this responsibility based on the team’s needs," he explained.
He added that once the innings progress, he gets a better understanding of the game and pitch conditions. "I always try to perform well, but I haven't been able to play long innings after getting set," he said.
Babar also shared his mindset, saying that he often reminds himself not to dwell on past performances. "What I did before is in the past. If I focus too much on that, I won’t perform well in the future. Every new day brings a new plan and mindset. Successfully chasing big targets boosts our confidence," he said.
