JUI-F chief says government fails to listen to opposition suggestions

Islamabad: Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman claimed that policies affecting national stability were not being created within the parliamentary halls or government circles, but in closed rooms outside the purview of the government, politics, and parliament.
Addressing a session of the National Assembly, he emphasized that the issues facing the country were not confined to the legislative body alone. He stated that the entire nation is grappling with distress, citing rising unemployment, economic instability, and dismantling of governmental departments and institutions. He further expressed concern about the lack of security for the common people, stating that millions of citizens are losing their jobs, and no one seems to be addressing these critical issues.
The JUI-F leader pointed out that if the government made decisions detrimental to the public or the economy, these matters should be discussed and debated in the parliament. However, he criticized the government for not engaging in constructive dialogue and for showing stubbornness in handling national issues.
Fazl said that despite being a forum for debate, parliament has been rendered ineffective, especially as the government has failed to listen to opposition suggestions.
