It is trade that drives country's growth, says Zardari

Islamabad: President Asif Ali Zardari has said that the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) is a key project for promoting trade in the region, and that he highlighted the importance of Gwadar to the world a long time ago.
Speaking at the conference in Islamabad, President Zardari stated that CPEC would play an important role in the development of the region. He added that he had emphasized the significance of Gwadar long ago, and now business activities in the world are increasing.
He further mentioned that water is being brought to Balochistan through the Wakhan Corridor from Tajikistan, located 14 miles away. The United Arab Emirates has invested in this project, and China has also been invited to participate. He expressed hope that China would consider joining the project.
President Zardari also emphasized that Pakistan’s strategic importance is due to its location, adding that a trade war is ongoing in the world today, and it is trade that drives a country's growth.
