This move is part of Pakistan's effort to digitize its visa system

(Web Desk): Pakistan has launched a mobile app called "Pak ID" to make it easier for citizens of 120 eligible countries to get a visa-on-arrival.
The app, developed by the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA), allows users to apply for business and tourist visas and track the status of their applications in real-time. What used to take days can now be done in just 24 hours for eligible applicants.
The app has several features, including face recognition, document scanning, and photo uploading. This means applicants can complete the visa process without visiting any offices, saving time and making it easier for international tourists and businesspeople.
This move is part of Pakistan's effort to digitize its visa system. While the country already offers visas to citizens of 192 countries, the new app simplifies the process even more. Travelers can also receive updates and track their visa status directly from their smartphones.
The app is designed to boost Pakistan's tourism industry and make it easier for people to get a visa. It's available for free on both Android and iOS, so anyone can easily access the visa application process.
The app also helps overseas Pakistanis apply for identity cards, continuing NADRA’s work to modernize services through technology. The government hopes this app will attract more international visitors and make it easier for citizens to access important services.
Currently, the app supports only Visa Prior to Arrival (VPA) applications. For other types of visas, applicants must visit the POVS website. Overall, the app is expected to simplify the visa application process, reduce wait times, and improve business and tourism in Pakistan.
