‘Various tests have been conducted on elephants, and consultant has been appointed for them’


Karachi: Two female elephants at Safari Park, ‘Madhubala’ and ‘Malka’, have been diagnosed with tuberculosis (TB). Consultations with expert doctors regarding their health are ongoing, while the vaccination for the elephants' mahout has been completed.
Amjad Zaidi, the Director of Safari Park, stated that various tests have been conducted on the elephants, and a consultant has been appointed for them.
Zaidi mentioned that the elephants are examined every other day, and a panel has been formed for their health, which includes Sri Lankan doctors, Four Paws, and other experts.
It is worth noting that the cause of death for the late elephant ‘Sonia’ at Safari Park was also linked to tuberculosis.
