Police arrest woman’s ex-husband, Muhammad Riaz, involved in incident


Rawalpindi: A woman from Muzaffargarh was severely injured when her ex-husband threw acid on her in the Chakri Road area of Rawalpindi.
According to the police, the woman is a resident of Kot Addu in the Muzaffargarh district and had filed a divorce case against her ex-husband.
The police stated that the woman was on her way to court with her father for the divorce case hearing when her ex-husband, along with two unidentified individuals, attacked them and threw acid on the woman and her father, severely injuring both.
The police mentioned that both victims were transferred to Holy Family Hospital for treatment.
Meanwhile, in response to the acid attack, the City Police Officer (CPO) Rawalpindi, Khalid Mahmood Hamdani, took notice and ordered the immediate arrest of the culprits. The police arrested the woman's ex-husband, Muhammad Riaz, involved in the incident.
The police added that further investigations are ongoing, and the acid attack is believed to be a result of personal enmity.
