27-kilometer-long project will connect Valencia Town to Babu Sabo Chowk

(Web Desk): In a major development for the citizens of Lahore, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has unveiled plans for the launch of a groundbreaking mega project – the first-ever fully underground Blue Line Metro Train service in the region’s history.
The 27-kilometer-long project will connect Valencia Town to Babu Sabo Chowk, covering a significant stretch of the city. The ambitious plan aims to transform urban transport in Lahore, offering an efficient and modern solution to the growing traffic congestion in the city.
The project, estimated to cost a whopping Rs600 billion, is slated to be completed within the next three years, marking a major milestone in the development of Lahore’s public transportation infrastructure.
Sources indicate that the Punjab Transport Department has already commenced work on the feasibility and design of the Blue Line Metro Train project. Officials are optimistic that the initiative will not only enhance mobility in Lahore but will also improve the city’s environmental footprint by offering an eco-friendly alternative to traditional modes of transportation.
