What is Monkeypox?
Monkeypox was initially a disease found in monkeys, which spread in the western part of Africa after 1970 and continued to spread there for several decades. Although there were some cases of monkeypox in regions like Europe and the US in the past, most of the cases were found in Africa. However, now for the first time, cases of this disease are being reported outside Africa, causing concern among people.
Experts say that monkeypox spreads through close contact, but it is not as rapidly spreading as the coronavirus. Monkeypox can spread from human to human, which is why experts are advising social distancing.
