16-day event ends with spectacular closing ceremony, setting record with millions of participants

Lahore: The famous Horse and Cattle Show concluded with a grand ceremony attended by Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz and Chief of Army Staff General Asim Munir.
The 16-day event ended with a spectacular closing ceremony, setting a record with millions of participants. People from all backgrounds, including families and international athletes, gathered to enjoy the event.
The show featured exciting competitions and cultural displays, drawing tens of thousands of attendees, including many children. Athletes from 13 countries, including Turkey, Dubai, Baku, Ukraine, and Ethiopia, took part in various events and praised the show as exceptional.
One of the highlights was the Shandur Polo matches, which were held for the first time in Lahore and attracted many spectators. The dog show at Jilani Park, showcasing pedigree dogs, also drew a lot of attention from pet lovers.
Other events included a seven-day tent pegging competition with international teams, as well as thrilling Buzkashi, archery, and equestrian sports.
Cultural performances, such as those during the Punjab Cultural Nights, celebrated the region’s rich traditions. Special performances highlighted the culture of Gilgit-Baltistan, emphasizing the province’s diversity. Additional attractions included livestock competitions, a flower exhibition by the Parks and Horticulture Authority, and a Children’s Festival at Bagh-e-Jinnah.
The closing ceremony, which featured tent pegging, a drone show, and a stunning fireworks display, was a memorable event. Traditional sports like Rustam Punjab wrestling were also showcased, and famous artists like Rahat Fateh Ali Khan and Arif Lohar performed.
