Eid ul-Fitr crescent is expected to be sighted on March 30, with Eid possibly falling on March 31, 2025

(Web Desk): The Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (SUPARCO) has predicted that Ramadan in 2025 will likely begin on March 2.
According to SUPARCO, the new moon will appear on February 28, 2025, at 5:45 PM Pakistan Standard Time (PST). By sunset that day, the moon will be 12 hours old. However, due to the moon being low in the sky and far from Earth, it will be hard to see with the naked eye.
SUPARCO explained that the moon and the sun will be at an angle of only 7 degrees on February 28, making it impossible for the human eye to spot the crescent. This means Ramadan in Pakistan is expected to start on March 2, 2025.
SUPARCO also noted that the crescent moon could be visible in Saudi Arabia on February 28, which would make Ramadan begin there on March 1, 2025.
The crescent for Eid ul-Fitr is expected to appear on March 30, with Eid possibly taking place on March 31, 2025.
SUPARCO emphasized that the final decision about the start of Ramadan and Eid will be made by Pakistan’s Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee based on the moon's sighting.
