Rain predicted during Ramadan, powerful western spell alert issued in Balochistan
Light rain with thunder, snowfall in mountains is expected at few places


Karachi: The Meteorological Department has predicted rain across the country at the beginning of Ramadan.
According to the Meteorological Department, heavy rain and snowfall in the mountains are expected across the country on March 2 and 3, while the weather is likely to be dry in most parts of the country today and cold in the upper areas.
The Ramadan moon has not been sighted in the country, the first fast will be on Sunday, March 2.
The Meteorological Department has said that in addition to the partly cloudy weather in upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Gilgit-Baltistan, light rain with thunder and snowfall in the mountains is expected at a few places.
On the other hand, the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) has issued an alert for another powerful western spell in Balochistan from tomorrow.
According to the PDMA, another powerful western weather system is moving towards Balochistan. This system is likely to enter Balochistan tomorrow, March 2, while the western wave may affect Balochistan from Sunday afternoon to evening.
The PDMA says that Chaman, Ziarat, Noshki, Mastung, Pishin, Qila Saifullah, Qila Abdullah, Chagai, Kharan, Kalat, Sorab, Khuzdar, Barkhan, Harnai, Daki, Musakhel, Zhob, and Sherani will remain under the influence of the system.
According to the PDMA, there is a possibility of rain, wind, thunderstorms, and snowfall in the mountains from March 2, therefore, travelers and tourists should avoid unnecessary travel during snowfall, storms, and floods.
The PDMA has instructed citizens to stay indoors and exercise caution during strong winds, while all relevant institutions have also been instructed to remain alert and take necessary measures.
