WhatsApp tests new call menu for easier voice and video calls
This change aims to make WhatsApp’s calling features more flexible and user-friendly


(Web Desk): WhatsApp is testing a new call menu feature for chats and groups to improve its calling experience. The update is available for some Android beta testers and can be downloaded through the Google Play Store.
This new feature adds a call button to the top bar of chats, replacing the two separate buttons for voice and video calls. In one-on-one chats, the button shows a voice call icon. However, users can still make video calls. When they tap the call button, a menu will appear, letting them choose between a voice or video call.
The update also includes a shortcut to quickly create and share a call link, making it easier for users to invite others to join a call. Additionally, WhatsApp now allows users to select specific group members to call, instead of having to call everyone in the group at once.
This change aims to make WhatsApp’s calling features more flexible and user-friendly. Currently, the update is being rolled out to beta testers on Android devices.
