DIG South says settlement will not affect legal proceedings

Karachi: The parties involved in the assault case on Boat Basin Food Street have reached a settlement.
According to DIG South Ali Raza, a reconciliation has taken place between the two parties, and the complainant, Barkat Somro, has agreed to the settlement.
DIG South further stated that the settlement will not affect the legal proceedings. If the accused, Shah Zain Mari, is found in Karachi, he will be arrested.
Ali Raza also mentioned that the charge sheet in the case will be submitted to the court.
It is noteworthy that the main accused, Shah Zain Mari, along with his guards, rammed a civilian's car with their jeep on the night of February 19. They then got out of the vehicle and, using weapons, assaulted the civilian.
After the incident's CCTV footage went viral, the police took action and arrested five suspects involved in the incident during raids in various areas. However, the main accused, Shah Zain Mari, fled to Balochistan.
The case was registered on February 21 under the complaint of Barkat Ali.
