Begging can lead to three months in prison and fine of 5,000 dirhams

Dubai: Dubai Police has arrested nine beggars in a crackdown against beggars.
According to a foreign news agency, Dubai Police has formed special teams against beggars and has also taken nine beggars into custody.
Dubai Police says that begging can lead to three months in prison and a fine of 5,000 dirhams (Rs380,000).
Dubai Police has appealed to the public to report beggars, and the mobile app ‘Police Eye’ service has also been activated to report beggars.
According to Dubai Police, the public can also report beggars on 901.
