Both patients are from Peshawar, with 20-year-old's case being local, while 42-year-old man had returned from Saudi Arabia last year

Peshawar: Two more cases of monkeypox have been reported in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
According to the health department, the affected individuals include a 42-year-old man and a 20-year-old youth. Both patients are from Peshawar, with the 20-year-old's case being local, while the 42-year-old man had returned from Saudi Arabia last year.
The health department states that both patients have been isolated in their homes. Health Advisor Ihtisham Ali mentioned that the affected individuals had visited Khyber Teaching Hospital for treatment, where their tests were conducted based on suspicion, and today, monkeypox was confirmed in both cases.
The health advisor further stated that no one in the affected patients' households has shown any symptoms of monkeypox.
Sources say that earlier, a woman infected with monkeypox was also considered to have a local case, but her husband, who was from the Khyber district, had returned from abroad and transmitted the virus to her.
