FIA arrests suspects in separate raids in Gujrat and Narowal districts

(Web Desk): The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has arrested two men involved in smuggling people to Europe using dangerous sea routes.
The suspects, Shabbir Ahmed and Muhammad Javed, were caught in separate raids in the Gujrat and Narowal districts. Ahmed charged over Rs1.3 million ($4,600) per person to help migrants illegally travel to Spain through Mauritania. However, the migrants refused to go by boat and returned to Pakistan.
Javed, who had been on the run for 14 years, was wanted for a 2011 case where he took Rs275,000 ($970) from a man, promising to send him to Muscat but never doing so.
Both suspects are now in custody, and investigations are ongoing, according to an FIA spokesperson.
