The feature to schedule messages for Instagram users has finally been introduced.

The Meta-owned photo-sharing app announced the introduction of a feature called Schedule the Message for Later in February 2025.

Now this feature is available to users.

This new feature for Instagram Direct Messages (DMs) will allow users to schedule messages for friends.

That is, go to DMs and write your message or share a web link and then schedule it according to the time of your choice.

This way, there will be no more worries about saving the message somewhere and waiting for the right time or forgetting to send it.

Learn how to use the feature

The procedure for using the Instagram message schedule feature is very simple.

For this, open Instagram DMs and open the chat window of the friend to whom you want to send the message.

After writing the message, press and hold the send button for some time, and the scheduler option will appear.

After that, select the desired date and time and then click the send button.

When you click the send button, the scheduled message will appear in the chat and by clicking on it, you will be able to send or delete the message immediately.

You can schedule a message for up to 29 days, while you can also schedule a message for yourself, that is, you can use this feature as a reminder for yourself.

However, you cannot schedule photos or videos, this feature can only be used for written messages.
