LHC orders to form committee to investigate harassment in educational institutions
Court directed to establish committee headed by Chief Secretary to address incidents of harassment


Lahore: The Lahore High Court (LHC) has directed the formation of a high-powered committee to investigate incidents of harassment in educational institutions.
A three-member bench headed by Chief Justice Alia Neelam in the LHC heard a petition regarding harassment of female students in educational institutions.
The federal government’s lawyer informed the court that no rape incident took place in a private educational institution. The statement of the girl seen in the footage of this incident has been recorded. She has also said that no incident of rape took place, and a case has been registered in this incident.
The SSP Investigation said that they had formed a JIT on this incident, which has submitted a complete and comprehensive report.
The Chief Justice said in her remarks that there is a law in the country that institutions have to implement, the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) did a good and commendable job.
The court—while disposing of the petition to the extent of the private college incident—directed the establishment of a committee headed by the Chief Secretary to address incidents of harassment in educational institutions.
