Provincial government decides to equip police with modern weapons and equipment for counter-terrorism

Peshawar: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has immediately released Rs5.5 billion in funds to equip the police with modern weapons and equipment to combat terrorism.
The provincial government has decided to equip Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police with modern weapons and equipment for counter-terrorism, for which Rs5.5 billion have been immediately released.
Rs3 billion have been allocated for the bulletproofing of police vehicles and the purchase of other modern equipment. A decision has been made to form Special Weapons and Technical Teams equipped with modern equipment at the district level, and Rs1.3 billion have been provided for securing police stations and checkposts.
Rs50 crore have been allocated for the remaining construction projects of police stations and checkposts included in the Annual Development Program, and Rs72 crore have been released for night vision goggles, sniper rifles, and other equipment for the police.
A principled decision has also been made to equalize the salaries of police officers with those of the Balochistan Police, as well as to equalize the salaries of police personnel with those of the Punjab Police.
