Former Quetta Commissioner's daughter assaults air hostess, breaks tooth

Quetta: Former Quetta Commissioner Iftikhar Jogzai’s daughter assaulted a private airline air hostess.

According to details, the incident took place on March 18 on a Serene Air flight from Quetta to Islamabad. Iftikhar Jogzai was traveling with his daughter Saima and both of them misbehaved with the staff while checking in at Quetta Airport.

After entering the plane, the aircrew gave other instructions to the passengers, including fastening their seat belts, and during this time, the female air hostess asked Saima Jogzai to also fasten her seat belt and close the dining table, upon which the former commissioner’s daughter lost her temper.

Allegedly, former Commissioner Jogzai and his daughter used impolite language and started a ruckus on the plane.

The flight attendant informed the captain about the matter and when the father and daughter continued to create a ruckus, the captain contacted the control tower and brought the plane back from the runway. Seeing the situation, the Airport Security Force (ASF) was immediately called to the plane.

Due to the continuous ruckus, the captain of the plane asked the father and daughter to offload for the safety of the passengers, to which Saima Jogzai refused to get off the plane.

According to the airline administration, on this occasion, Saima Jogzai punched an air hostess in anger, which caused the female air hostess to bleed from the nose and break a tooth, after which the ASF took both the father and daughter into custody.

The airline administration says that after the incident, the Balochistan administration put pressure on the authorities to end the matter. The Quetta Commissioner immediately reached the Quetta Airport, inquired about the situation from the ASF, and asked them to resolve the matter. Later, the Quetta Commissioner got the father and daughter to write an apology.

After the apology, the father and daughter were allowed to leave without any legal action, while the injured air hostess was sent to the hospital.

It is also reported that the woman who created the ruckus on the plane was allegedly drunk, while the incident also raises a big question mark over the dignity and safety of the aircrew.
