Main procession of Hazrat Ali Day in Lahore will start from Mubarak Haveli and end at Karbala Gamay Shah


Lahore: The martyrdom anniversary of the fourth Caliph Hazrat Ali al-Murtaza (RA) is being celebrated with devotion and respect across the country today.
Mourning processions and gatherings will be held across the country. The main procession in Karachi will start from Nishtar Park and end at Hussainiya Iranian through designated routes.
The main procession of Shahadat Hazrat Ali (RA) will be taken out from Mochi Gate in Lahore.
The traffic police in Karachi have issued a traffic plan while strict security arrangements have been made for the processions.
The Commissioner of Karachi has imposed a ban on the pillion riding of motorcycles in the city under Section 144 on the occasion of Youm-e-Ali.
All educational institutions in Sindh will remain closed.
The main procession in Karachi will start from Nishtar Park at 1:00pm and will end at Imambargah Hussainiya Iranian in Kharadar. The streets and roads coming along the route of the procession have been closed by placing containers.
Participants will be allowed to enter only through walk-through gates and closed-circuit cameras have also been installed on the routes.
Shops on the procession route have been sealed, MA Jinnah Road has also been closed for traffic, and the road coming to Saddar from Corridor Three has been closed from the parking plaza.
Foolproof arrangements have been made for the security of the procession. More than 4,000 Rangers and police personnel will be deployed on duty.
The procession will continue from Nishtar Park to Sir Shah Nawaz Bhutto Road, Father James Road, MA Jinnah Road, Mansfield Street, Regal Chowk, Preddy Street, MA Jinnah Road again, Bolton Market, Bhati Bazaar, Kharadar, Nawab Mohabbat Khanji Road, and Hussainiya Irani Imambargah.
Traffic will be diverted from Soldier Bazaar, Coast Guards, and Incallsaria Chowk towards Nishtar Road.
Passengers going from Nazimabad to MA Jinnah Road will be diverted from Lasbela Chowk to Nishtar Road and then to Garden to reach their destination.
Traffic coming from Liaquatabad to MA Jinnah Road will be diverted from Teen Hatti Chowk to Jail Road and Martin Road.
In addition, traffic coming from Stadium Road to MA Jinnah Road will be allowed to come from New MA Jinnah Road.
These vehicles can go from Shahra-e-Quaideen to Shahra-e-Faisal via Dadabhai Noorji Road, Kashmir Road, and Society Light Signal.
Traffic coming from Gulberg towards MA Jinnah Road will be diverted from Liaquatabad No. 10 to Nazimabad Chowrangi No. 2, before being diverted to Habib Bank Flyover, State Avenue Road, and Shershah towards Maripur.
No traffic will be allowed to pass through Guru Mandir Chowk on the route of the procession.
The main procession of Hazrat Ali Day in Lahore will start from Mubarak Haveli and will end at Karbala Gamay Shah via its traditional routes. Other arrangements, including security, have been made in this regard.
The security of the participants of the procession is conducted in three levels. Participants are allowed to join the procession through walk-through gates, and metal detectors.
All routes are being monitored by CCTV cameras. 08 parking points have been made for the vehicles of the mourners participating in the main procession.
Four DSPs, 118 inspectors, and 696 wardens are on duty to control traffic around the mourning procession, while 10 forklifters and 02 breakdown vehicles are also present at the scene.
