According to SP of Civil Lines, drug trafficking cases were registered against deceased

Lahore: A young man has died in the custody of Mazang Police, and his relatives have accused the police of torture.
According to police sources, late at night, Mazang Police took a young man named Ejaz into custody from Ichhra. He was later transferred to the hospital after his health deteriorated, but he could not be revived.
The police stated that they attempted to arrest Ejaz's brother, Inam, but he managed to escape from the scene. Afterward, the police took Ejaz into custody. Inam was wanted in a drug trafficking case.
Police officials said Ejaz was taken into custody legally, and his health worsened while being transferred to the police station. He was then taken to the hospital, where he passed away.
According to the SP of Civil Lines, drug trafficking cases were registered against the deceased. On the other hand, the family has strongly protested, accusing the police of torture.
SP Abdul Hanan called these allegations baseless, stating that the police were not involved in any illegal actions. He further added that the facts would be clarified after the post-mortem report.
