Karachi: The terrible fire that broke out near the oil refinery in the Korangi area of Karachi has not been brought under control even after several hours. 10 fire brigade vehicles are busy extinguishing the fire.
According to the details, the fire allegedly spread due to a gas pipeline, but investigations are being conducted to find out the final causes. No casualties have been reported so far, but smoke spread in nearby areas due to the fire, causing difficulties for residents. The exact extent of the damage can only be estimated after the firefighting operation is completed.
Fire brigade officials have declared it a third-degree fire. Police officials have confirmed that the fire broke out far from the oil refinery, while Sui Southern staff also reached the spot.
Fire Officer Muhammad Zafar, while talking to the media, said that tenders have been invited from across the city to extinguish the fire. The gas line was damaged during the boring of the water pipeline. The fire is mysterious, it is not understood which line was affected.
He stated that water was poured on the fire, but it is flying back again. SSGC staff has been called, there is a need to dump soil through a dumper or helicopter.
On the other hand, Sindh Governor Kamran Tesori has contacted the Chief Fire Officer and directed that the fire should be brought under control immediately.
