Pakistan elected as member of UN Commission on Narcotics Control

New York: Pakistan has been elected as a member of the United Nations Commission on Narcotics for a four-year term.

Pakistan’s election took place in the UN Economic and Social Council elections in New York. Pakistan has been elected for a four-year term from 2026 to 2029.

According to the Pakistan UN Mission statement, Pakistan is grateful for the support of the UN Economic and Social Council.

The statement said that being elected as a member of the Commission on Narcotics shows confidence and trust in Pakistan. Pakistan is ready to play its effective role in the global anti-narcotics efforts.

According to the statement, Pakistan has been a pioneer in global anti-narcotics efforts and is playing a prominent role in against trafficking, production, and use.

Pakistan has always played an active and constructive role in the discussions related to the global drug policy at the United Nations.
