New York: Pakistan has been elected as a member of the United Nations Commission on Narcotics for a four-year term.

According to the Pakistan UN Mission statement, Pakistan is grateful for the support of the UN Economic and Social Council.
The statement said that being elected as a member of the Commission on Narcotics shows confidence and trust in Pakistan. Pakistan is ready to play its effective role in the global anti-narcotics efforts.
According to the statement, Pakistan has been a pioneer in global anti-narcotics efforts and is playing a prominent role in against trafficking, production, and use.
Pakistan has always played an active and constructive role in the discussions related to the global drug policy at the United Nations.
