Attack hit residential areas, causing fires and widespread destruction

On April 4, 2025, a Russian missile strike in the Ukrainian city of Kryvyi Rih killed at least 19 people, including 9 children, and injured more than 50.
According to a foreign news agency, the attack hit residential areas, causing fires and widespread destruction. Later, another person was killed in a drone strike. Ukrainian authorities condemned the attack, calling it a continuation of Russian aggression.
According to international media, the Russian Ministry of Defense claimed that the attack was carried out to target a meeting of Ukrainian commanders and Western instructors in a restaurant, allegedly killing 85 military personnel and officers and destroying 20 vehicles. The Ukrainian military has rejected these claims as false information.
According to a foreign news agency, rescue workers were busy with relief work throughout the night, while President Volodymyr Zelensky has appealed to Western powers to put more pressure on Moscow. Although ceasefire agreements were recently reached to stop attacks on energy infrastructure, both sides have accused each other of violating these agreements.
Thousands of civilians have been killed since Russia launched a full-scale offensive in February 2022, and the incident in Zelensky’s hometown became one of the deadliest attacks of 2025.
