(Web Desk): UK Labour MP Dan Norris has been arrested on suspicion of rape and sexual offenses involving a minor.
According to foreign news agencies, the police arrested Dan Norris at his home during a raid on suspicion of rape and sexual offenses against a minor.
The police also seized certain items during the raid at his residence, and the Labour Party has suspended him. A spokesperson for the Labour Party stated that the police investigation is ongoing and declined to comment further on the matter.
Dan Norris, who has worked as a teacher and a child protection officer, was the subject of a complaint in December 2024, with most of the alleged incidents occurring in the 2020s.
It is worth noting that the 65-year-old Dan Norris was elected MP for North East Somerset in 2024, defeating high-profile Conservative MP Jacob Rees-Mogg. Norris had also served as a junior minister in Gordon Brown's cabinet.
