Islamabad: The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) has approved a reduction in electricity prices by Rs1.71 per unit across the country, including Karachi, under the head of petroleum levy.
NEPRA accepted the federal government's request to lower electricity tariffs and has formally sent its decision to the government for implementation.
As per the decision, the reduced rates will be applicable for the period from April to June 2025. The price cut will benefit electricity consumers nationwide, including those served by K-Electric.
NEPRA’s decision states that the reduction in electricity prices will not be applicable to lifeline consumers.
