US imposes new sanctions to stop illegal sale of Iranian oil

Washington: The US has imposed new sanctions to stop the illegal sale of Iranian oil.

According to the US State Department, new sanctions have been imposed to stop the illegal sale of Iranian oil.

The US State Department says that sanctions have been imposed on Jagwinder Singh, an Indian citizen living in the UAE, as his companies are accused of assisting in the transportation of Iranian oil.

According to the US Treasury Department, Iran relies on illegal shipping agents to sell oil.

The US Treasury Department said that a network of 30 ships has also been blacklisted to stop Iran’s financial support.

US officials say that Jagwinder Singh’s ships have been delivering oil to the National Iranian Oil Company and the Iranian military.

It is pertinent to note that earlier the US imposed sanctions on five more Iranian entities and one person yesterday.

The US State Department said that the entities and individuals sanctioned are related to Iran's nuclear program. This move is part of President Trump's pressure on Iran regarding the nuclear deal. Those who support Iran's nuclear program will continue to be held accountable.
