‘The arrested suspect is a close associate of SRA commanders Asghar Ali Shah and Noor Ahmed Chandio’

Karachi: The Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) Sindh conducted an operation in the Sachal area and arrested an alleged terrorist associated with the banned organization Sindhudesh Revolutionary Army (SRA), recovering illegal weapons from his possession.
According to CTD Sindh, the intelligence-based operation was carried out near the Memon Graveyard in Police Housing Society, Scheme 33, within the jurisdiction of Sachal Police Station.
During the operation, a suspect identified as Sajjad Shar alias Babloo, son of Ghulam Abbas, was arrested. He is allegedly affiliated with the banned outfit SRA and was found in possession of illegal arms.
The CTD spokesperson stated that the arrested suspect is a close associate of SRA commanders Asghar Ali Shah and Noor Ahmed Chandio. The suspect had previously been arrested in cases related to murder, attempted murder, and possession of explosive materials.
The accused used to receive instructions from SRA commanders and conveyed them to other operatives, including Ghulam Shabbir Mallah and Bashir Shar. He also encouraged young boys to join SRA and participate in party gatherings.
The suspect was involved in surveillance of sensitive locations in Karachi and interior Sindh and shared the information with his associates. Acting on the instructions of SRA leadership, he was reportedly planning an IED attack near the railway track close to Bohar village in Hyderabad district and was awaiting the delivery of the explosives.
Authorities are now extracting further information from the suspect regarding other terrorists associated with the banned group. A case has been registered against him by the CTD, and investigation is underway.
