Lahore: The Punjab government has made rainwater harvesting systems mandatory for various types of construction.
According to the details, the Punjab government has made water harvesting systems mandatory in poultry, fish farms, petroleum refineries, textile industry, garment units, food industry, flour, rice mills, ghee oil mills, petrol pumps, and cement plants.
According to the notification, rainwater harvesting systems have also been made mandatory in sugar mills, chemical industry, pharma industry, paper mills, fertilizer units, airports, housing societies, commercial buildings, hotels, and marriage halls.
Rainwater harvesting systems will also be mandatory at all educational institutions, bus stops, and wagon stands.
According to the notification issued by the administration, the approval of construction work will be subject to the rainwater harvesting system, while the decision will be implemented immediately.
