20,057 cases of malaria were reported across Sindh from January 1 to April 16


Karachi: Malaria cases are increasing rapidly across Sindh and a case of cerebral malaria has also come to light this year.
According to the Health Department, a Hyderabad citizen suffering from cerebral malaria is admitted to the hospital this year. Cerebral malaria is a dangerous type of malaria in which germs cause swelling in the blood vessels of the brain, which can be fatal if not treated promptly.
The Health Department said that 20,057 cases of malaria were reported across Sindh from January 1 to April 16, while 201 cases of malaria were reported from Karachi from January to April 16.
7,702 malaria cases were reported from the Hyderabad division, 1,835 from Sukkur, 6,499 from Larkana, 1,398 from Mirpurkhas, and 2,422 from Shaheed Benazirabad.
