Budget is expected to be presented in Parliament between June 3 and 5

Islamabad: Federal Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb is set to visit the United States next week to attend the annual meetings of the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund (IMF). Meanwhile, the government has principally decided to present the federal budget for FY2025-26 before Eid-ul-Adha.
According to sources in the Ministry of Finance, a proposal is under consideration to convene the budget session of Parliament earlier than usual due to Eid.
The new budget is expected to be presented in Parliament between June 3 and 5, possibly two to three days before Eid. The budget approval process will begin immediately after the Eid holidays.
Consultations with the IMF will also take place regarding the upcoming fiscal year’s budget. An IMF mission is scheduled to arrive in Pakistan on May 14 to hold discussions.
Key targets, including annual tax revenue and the development budget, will be finalized with IMF approval.
The Finance Minister will participate in the IMF and World Bank Spring Meetings, scheduled to take place in Washington from April 21 to 26.
