Commission order all parties to complete their arguments at next hearing


Islamabad: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has issued an order in the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) intra-party election case.
According to the order, a notice was issued to the respondent in the PTI intra-party election case on April 23, 2024, while the case was first scheduled for hearing on April 30 last year.
The order states that 12 hearings of the PTI intra-party case have been held in the ECP so far. PTI sought adjournment of the case on various grounds on 8 occasions, and it was granted in the interest of justice.
The Election Commission's order also stated that PTI itself contacted the Lahore High Court (LHC) and obtained the order, and it has been one year since the order, and LHC has not stayed the proceedings before the commission.
The order further stated that the Election Commission will continue the hearing of the PTI intra-party case and will issue the final decision after the petition is disposed of.
According to the order, all parties should complete their arguments at the next hearing. Final arguments and counter-arguments on the case will be held on April 22.
