34 people have died so far


Bogota: Dozens of people with yellow fever have lost their lives in Colombia.
According to foreign media, the number of cases of yellow fever in Colombia is increasing rapidly, due to which 34 people have died so far and are undergoing treatment in several hospitals.
According to media reports, the government has announced the implementation of a health emergency in view of the health situation.
What causes yellow fever?
Yellow fever is caused by a virus transmitted to humans by mosquitoes and can be prevented by vaccination.
In this regard, the government has urged the public to get vaccinated before the Easter weekend because people travel to warm areas where mosquitoes that spread the disease are more common due to the Easter weekend.
The Minister of Health also informed about the situation and said that 74 cases of this fever have been confirmed across the country. He also emphasized the vaccination provided free of charge to the public.
Symptoms of yellow fever
The WHO has said that most people recover after the first stage of infection, which usually includes fever, muscle and back pain, headache, chills, loss of appetite, and nausea or vomiting.
However, the WHO has warned that about 15 percent of people experience the second stage of this fever, which includes high fever, jaundice, bleeding, and kidney failure, and patients whose health deteriorates more often die within 10 to 14 days.
