Iffat Omar declines Punjab govt’s offer to become cultural adviser
‘I’ve humbly declined the offer’

Lahore: Former model and actor Iffat Omar has turned down the Punjab government’s offer to become the cultural adviser to Information Minister Azma Bokhari.
Speaking to journalists, Omar confirmed, “I’ve humbly declined the offer.” Her response came after various media outlets and social media pages reported that she had accepted the position to help promote and preserve Punjab’s cultural heritage through government programs.
Iffat Omar stepped away from acting in 2022. At the time, she announced her decision to quit showbiz, saying she wanted to focus on new opportunities, especially on social media.
“I left acting because I personally don’t like the quality of work being done. It didn’t feel right to be a part of something I often criticize,” she said.
However, Omar hasn’t ruled out a return to acting completely. She said she may consider coming back if she’s offered an exceptional script.
Currently, Iffat Omar runs a YouTube podcast titled *Say It All With Iffat Omar*, where she interviews guests from various fields, discussing important issues and ideas.
Her decision to decline the advisory role reflects her focus on independent media work and personal creative projects.
