Offer has come when Biden administration unsuccessfully tried to finalize conditional defense deal with Saudi Arabia

Washington: The United States has offered Saudi Arabia a defense deal worth $100 billion.
According to foreign media reports, US President Donald Trump has offered Saudi Arabia an arms package worth more than $100 billion.
A foreign news agency has claimed, citing sources, that the deal to sell weapons worth more than $100 billion to Saudi Arabia will be officially announced during Trump’s planned visit in May.
The official spokespersons of the US White House and Saudi Arabia have immediately declined to comment on the news.
The proposed package has come at a time when the administration of former US President Joe Biden had unsuccessfully tried to finalize a conditional defense deal with Saudi Arabia, for which the Biden administration had urged Saudi Arabia to normalize relations with Israel.
It is pertinent to note that US President Trump will visit Saudi Arabia, the Emirates, and Qatar from May 13 to 16.
