(Web Desk): Despite tall claims of Pakistan becoming a polio free nation, the National Emergency Operations Centre (NEOC) has confirmed the presence of poliovirus in 22 environmental samples amassed from across the country.
The centre collected a total of 56 samples from 44 districts, out of which 22 tested positive for the virus.
According to NEOC officilas, ongoing vaccination campaigns have helped significantly control polio transmission. It also reiterated that repeated doses of the vaccine are safe and necessary to build long-term immunity.
