Performing Hajj without permission or attempting to do so will result in fine of up to 20,000 riyals


Islamabad: The Saudi Interior Ministry has announced strict penalties and fines for violations of Hajj laws.
According to a statement issued by the Saudi Ministry of Interior, performing Hajj without permission or attempting to do so will result in a fine of up to 20,000 riyals, while anyone providing transport or assistance to a visit visa holder will be fined up to 100,000 riyals.
The announcement states that a fine of 20,000 riyals will be imposed for entering Mecca or holy sites on a visit visa during the Hajj season, and up to 100,000 riyals for providing accommodation to unauthorized pilgrims in hotels or private homes.
According to the announcement, the facilitators will be deported and banned from entering Saudi Arabia for 10 years for the violation, while the vehicle can be confiscated in case of illegal transportation of pilgrims.
In addition, an appeal against the fine or punishment can be filed within 30 days, and an application can be filed in court within 60 days.
The laws and penalties will be applicable from 1st Dhul-Qa'dah to 14th Dhul-Hijjah.
