This press briefing comes at a time of rising tensions with India

Rawalpindi: Director General of Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, will hold a significant press conference today at 6:30 PM.
This press briefing comes at a time of heightened tensions, following the attack on local tourists in Pahalgam. In its aftermath, India began a wave of baseless accusations and provocative actions against Pakistan. These included suspending the Indus Waters Treaty and ordering Pakistani diplomatic staff to leave India by April 30, 2025. The Modi government has also taken other aggressive steps, such as cancelling visas issued to Pakistani citizens.
In response, Pakistan’s National Security Committee (NSC) adopted a strong diplomatic strategy, limiting India’s diplomatic staff in Pakistan to 30 personnel. The NSC firmly stated that water is Pakistan’s lifeline and any attempt to cut it off would be considered an act of war.
The growing tensions between the two nuclear-armed South Asian nations have raised global concerns. Pakistan has blamed its regional rival for the deadly Jaafar Express attack in the United Nations.
Earlier, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif had expressed willingness to accept an impartial investigation into the Pahalgam incident. However, India continues to display its usual intransigence instead of making efforts toward peace.
