Karachi students learn hygiene practices in engaging session

Karachi: The Karachi Water and Sewerage Services Improvement Project (KWSSIP) in collaboration with the National Rural Support Programme (NRSP) organized an informative Behaviour Change Communication (BCC) Session at the New Way School in Essa Nagri area.  

The session aimed to raise awareness among school children about water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) practices, encouraging them to take essential steps toward improving their environment.

The session saw enthusiastic participation of the students, who understand the importance of the campaign’s purposes.

For the children’s better understanding in a interesting way, educational hygiene rhymes were displayed during the awareness session. To make the session more informative an engaging role-play performance presented in a light-hearted manner.

The KWSSIP-NRSP team members, portraying the characters of “Chinto” and “Cheena,” delivered essential hygiene messages in an entertaining and captivating way. The children not only appreciated the performance but also gained valuable insights into adopting hygiene principles in their daily lives.

Throughout the session, the students were engaged to raise their little thoughts and stories and daily-based practices pertaining to hygiene. Awareness-based phamplate distribution also took place.

KWSSIP, under its katchi abadis initiative, is working for water supply and sewage rehabilitation in underserved areas. The BCC Campaigns seek to encourage residents to adopt healthier hygiene and sanitation practices, ultimately fostering positive changes in their communities.
