WAPDA releases report on water situation in rivers

The Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA) has released a report on the water situation in rivers and reservoirs.

According to a WAPDA spokesperson, the inflow of water into the Indus River at Tarbela is 95,300 cusecs, and the outflow is 50,000 cusecs.

The spokesperson said that the inflow of water into the Jhelum River at Mangla is 43,500 cusecs, and the outflow is 32,000 cusecs. The inflow of water into the Chashma Barrage is 99,100 cusecs, and the outflow is 85,000 cusecs.

Similarly, the water inflow in Chenab River at Head Marala is 28,300 cusecs, and the outflow is 19,100 cusecs; the water inflow in Kabul River at Nowshera is 37,000 cusecs, and the outflow is 37,000 cusecs.

According to the WAPDA spokesperson, the water level in Tarbela Reservoir today is 1444.30 feet, and the storage is 902,000-acre feet; the water level in Mangala Reservoir today is 1137 feet, and the storage is 1235,000-acre feet.

Meanwhile, the water level in Chashma Reservoir today is 646.90 feet, and the storage is 208,000-acre feet. The total usable water storage in Tarbela, Mangla, and Chashma Reservoirs is 2.345 million-acre feet.
